Our Song launch new ways to ‘gift' music

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just weeks after the controversial Digital Economy Bill was passed by the House of Commons, the UK’s newest legal music download website has been launched with a different slant on how digital music is packaged and purchased.

Our Song Limited is the latest company to enter the world of music downloads providing new ways to send a song as a gift to friends and loved ones.

“People associate music with all kinds of life events and shared experiences” says Managing Director, Bryn Whitworth, “there are endless reasons why someone might send a song as a gift, including songs that celebrate love and romance, achievements, sporting triumphs, good times and friendships”.

As well as providing the usual digital download capabilities, customers can choose to purchase their ‘Our Song’ as either a USB gift or as an e-Song.

“Both options allow the customer to choose a themed player which can be customised with their own photographs and messages”, added Bryn. “When played together with the customers’ choice of ‘Our Song’, the end result is a memorable audio-visual experience”.

“We are delighted to see another great example of a business using 7digital’s technologies in a surprising and innovative way,” says Stephen Somerville, Commercial Director at 7digital, “in this instance Our Song are blurring the lines between physical and digital products to deliver a unique consumer solution”.A USB gift is intended to be given in person, whereas an e-Song can be sent instantly over the internet.

The music download aspects of the website are powered by 7digital who provide an extensive catalogue of some  9 million tracks to choose from.
